Yellow Light of Death (PS3)
I think that maybe recently ive been playing call of duty too much. My Playstation has been on for hours as you expect it could be. But maybe about 2 months ago it kept making noises (like pops and beeps when starting it up and turning it off). Then roughly about a month ago i tried to turn it on, and it didnt start up properly. A yellow light appeared where the green/red light was suppose to be, so i turned it off and i tried turning it on once a day, and then left it for 2 days and tried again and it still didnt work. Then i was talking to one of my friend about it when he said that he had heard of the "yellow light of death" on a tv program. When i got home i googled it and to much avail there was hundreds of articles, youtube videos, products and services about this mysterious "yellow light of death". It turns out that Sony say that it is caused by different faults, and the reason the yellow light comes on is that it means there is a fault of somesort. It seems that the same thing can fix all the problems. If you google yellow light of death yourself you will find certain videos that show people fixing ps3s. You can do it by heating the circuit board, but there is easier ways than having a huge oven to do it. There is also alot of handy books and things that can help you. Ive now got my PS3 working again, and if you have the yellow light of death on your machine i would recommend you have a look at the 2 products on the right hand side.
